Your Space – Art and culture as door opener for enhanced social inclusion of disadvantaged young people

The Covid-19 pandemic has changed the lives of people across the EU and deeply shaken the foundations of social interaction – contacts with family and friends, school, work and leisure. Disorientation, loss of trust, loneliness, frustration, fears of the future and self-doubt jeopardise social cohesion and undermine the values of democracy.

Especially for young people who are still insecure about their place in society, it is difficult to find their way around in such crisis situations and to confront fake news, populism, anti-democratic movements and radicalisation tendencies.

This is where Your Space comes in. The project encourages disadvantaged young people to get involved in their district, to engage with others through art actions and thus strengthen their skills in facing current social challenges.
